Joint IDA to Host Meeting in Rural Retreat

The Board of Directors of the Joint Industrial Development Authority of Wythe County, Wytheville, and Rural Retreat (Joint IDA) will host its monthly board meeting at the Rural Retreat Depot on May 25, 2017, at 3:00pm.

By taking its “show on the road” the Board hopes to solicit input from citizens all over its representative area.  At each board meeting, Citizens Time is offered to those that would like to speak to the board and address ideas, concerns, or anything else that’s relevant to the business of the Joint IDA.

Mr. Jerry Hurt, President of the Rural Retreat Depot Foundation, will speak to the group about the work being done to the Depot and what’s led up to this point. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that was established in 2011 with the mission of acquiring, restoring, and ultimately managing the Rural Retreat Depot.

Governor Youngkin Announces Expansion of Forest Products Company in Wythe County

Musser Biomass and Wood Products, a division of Musser Lumber Company, will expand in Wythe County with a $75,000 grant. The expansion will create 10 jobs and double production.
